Out on Vail, Colorado there is a premium on real estate which has been carefully planned for. And while the place is known for its expensive homes, there are also affordable ones which are made. The founder is a former member of an elite ski and paratroop unit that trained around this area of Colorado. After coming back to his civilian profession of engineer after Word War II, he say the possibility of a town, one that would be well planned. In actual land area, Vail is big, but for usage like agriculture and housing, it does not have that much to offer.
The thing is that the slopes that are found around the town were going to be the heaven of skiing enthusiasts. And while it many snowbound countries it is a pastime or sport which can also be a necessity in winter, here, it has become central to a cult like lifestyle. Absolutely nothing evil in this, and in fact the town has made this skiing an activity which was the heaven its founder envisioned.
For the most part, the housing developments here were a marriage of convenience and enlightenment. No one in this town wants to ruin the picturesque settings or mar the perfect slopes in winter. Although winter here is somewhat longer, running even to a year round status that makes the place perfect for enthusiasts.
Skiers in this country often belong to the higher income households. But there are plenty of sportsmen who love the snow as if it were their native element. A mixture has been created from these, plus celebrities who love the solitude here.
The solitude is natural and so is are the slopes. The most natural element of all is perhaps the hospitality and warmth of an exclusive though non prejudicial community. The central focus is and always has been the mountains and the ski runs.
